I Love Jesus - My Prayer for Repentance

I repent

I have sinned

I am a sinner

I have sinned today

I have sinned yesterday

I have sinned the day before that, and the day before that, and so on

My whole life is full of sin

I can neither count nor recall all my sins

for they are innumerable to me

as they are as the grains of sand in the sea

But my Lord knows them all

So I pray for the vision of my sins

So I may account and repent for as many as I can before my day of judgement

For I know not the day or hour of that for only God knows that

But I wish to prepare as best as I can

And try to lessen my burden on that day

So I repent

 

I have not loved my brother as I should

I have had bad thoughts

I have entertained them

I have watched them grow

I have acted on them

I have said bad things

I have done bad things

I have not been humble enough

I have not been a perfect imitation of Christ

 

I have not loved my Lord as I should

I have not stayed in His presence

I have fallen from the straight and narrow path

I have desired the creations more than the Creator

I am not worthy

I repent

 

I pray for mercy

I pray for forgiveness

I am not worthy

I am as a dog who having purged himself returns to eat his own vomit

I am as a pig who after being bathed and cleaned by his master returns to wallow in the muck of his stye

I repent

I am not worthy

 

I cast off the old man of Adam, self, and sin

And put on the new man born again in Christ

 

I accept that Jesus has forgiven me

for when satan replays my sins over and over again trying to ensnare me in them again,

I know that I have already repented for them and that Jesus has forgiven me for them

and I will call on Him to help me drive satan away

 

I am not worthy

I repent

Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me
